On 12th December 2009, the Mingles group visited Beechenhurst to partake in winter sports and visit father Christmas. Marisol and Rory took the opportunity to go ice skating. Alicia was desperate to join in but a recent fall had left her walking on a stick (more about that later). We then took a walk through the woodland, all lit up by fairy lights and came to the tobogganing run - what else in the Forest of Dean with no snow!. This was great fun, although Richard couldn't go down the slope in a straight line, and despite several attempts always came off the run sideways halfway along.

We then continued along the fairy-lit path to visit Santa. He was a very jolly fellow and had all of us singing When Santa got Stuck up the Chimney (which he said was the best of any visitors so far), and then asked the children what they wanted for Christmas and gave them all a present.
